Postdoctoral Fellowship available at the University of Hong Kong

A postdoctoral fellowship in Perceptual and Language Development is available for 3 years in the Department of Psychology at the University of Hong Kong (Ref. 20100104). The project will use psychophysical, EEG, eye tracking, and computational modelling methods to investigate the development of perceptual expertise, in particular, in second language acquisition and music learning. The applicant must have: (1) a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related fields; and (2) relevant experience in psychophysical, EEG, or eye tracking experiments. Programming experience, especially in matlab, is desirable.

In recent years we have built up a group of Cognitive Psychology researchers, with interests in language development and psycholinguistics (Janet Hsiao and Terry Au), face and object perception (Janet Hsiao & Will Hayward), visual neuroscience (Sing-Hang Cheung), perception and action (Li Li), computational modelling (Jeff Saunders and Janet Hsiao), and attention and learning (Chia-huei Tseng). The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Drs. Janet Hsiao and Terry Au on the proposed projects, with a possibility to collaborate with other researchers in the group.

Applicants should send a letter of application, a formal application form (http://www3.hku.hk/hr/forms_online_applications/vacancies.php,
form 152/708), along with a CV and three letters of reference to Dr.
Janet Hsiao (jhsiao@hku.hk). Review of applications will begin immediately, and continue until the position is filled. More information about the Department of Psychology at HKU is available at:
